A Bright Mind

In remembrance of Chad Evans.

By: Laurie Ferenac

We were Chad's employer for 12 years. We watched him develop from a young 22 years old just starting out in the machining industry to becoming our best Lathe Machinist. Chad absorbed everything he was taught. It is hard to lose a bright mind, energetic spirit, kind heart and infectious smile. Chad never had a harsh word for anyone he worked with and was always there to lend a helping hand.

It was devastating to us to lose Chad. It was akin to losing a child. From the age of 22 to 34, Chad became an essential part of our corporate identity because of his skill and his speed at which he worked was unrivalled. There was no one like Chad and there never will be again!

Although as a business we must carry on, we are heart broken it is without him. Chad was supposed to be here. He was supposed to be a permanent part of our legacy. We were aware of his struggles outside of work and it was so hard for us to watch. We knew how much potential he had and those struggles were holding him back! Chad was supposed to take over Steve's role and run the operation. Steve told him so many times over the years "I want you in my chair!"

It is inexplicably tragic to watch helplessly as someone succumbs to the struggles of mental health. We are so proud to have had Chad in our lives and as an employee but he was and will always be so much more than that to us!
